The Ghostsigns Tours App is Out Now
The Ghostsigns Tours App, and the Bankside Ghostsigns Walk within it, are now available from iTunes and Google Play (for Android). The app brings the popular Ghostsigns Walking Tours to your mobile device, for enjoyment at street level, or from the comfort of your own home. A mixture of contemporary and archival photography is used to tell the stories behind these fading advertisements of old, with text and narration from your guide, Sam Roberts.
The app is launching officially at the 2016 London Design Festival, accompanied by a series of events as part of the Light Capsules collaboration between Ghostsigns and Craig Winslow. The app is free to download for iPhone and Android devices, with in-app purchases for individual tours. Each tour is priced at $5.99, with a special 50% discount applicable across the duration of the London Design Festival, 17-24 September 2016.
See more events from Ghostsigns and Better Letters at this year’s London Design Festival here, and a bit more about the Light Capsules project here and here. Following the initial launch with the Bankside Ghostsigns Walk, 2017 will see the addition of the original Ghostsigns Walking Tour in Stoke Newington to the app. Keep in touch via this blog, or on social media (Twitter and Facebook) for an update when this second tour goes live, or join a face-to-face tour if you can’t wait.
