Fuller, Smith & Turner: Chiswick Ales & Stouts

Photo of newly painted sign on Great Western Road, London, W9

This new hand painted sign on the building housing the Union Tavern was sent to me by regular correspondent Ross Corben.  It is advertising the famous Fuller, Smith & Turner brewery from nearby Chiswick and has clearly been produced to have a dated look, in keeping with some of the ‘faux’ ghostsigns discussed previously.  It is a very well finished piece and obviously painted by a professional.  Does anyone know anything about the commissioning and production of the sign?

The sign can be found above the Union Tavern on Great Western Road, London, W9, close to Westbourne Park underground station.  The link will take you to the google streetview for the location which pre-dates the photo below.
