A Rubinstein & Sons
Just like Fin Fahey I had walked past this one in Stoke Newington many times. I then noticed today that the vine had been cleared since my last photo so took another from the window of Hamiltons just across the road. Does ‘Alf the purse king’ (in red, top left of the sign) mean a man with a big wallet, or was it a precurser to the rise of ‘manbags‘?
